NOTE: Please use the online system at least 6 hours prior to the scheduled showtime. If you are making reservations on the date of the program, please call us at 878-4911 and leave your request information.
Reservations are strongly suggested, but not required. Due to volume, any unclaimed reserved tickets will be released if not claimed 10 minutes prior to showtime.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:The stars of the northern sky, including the Big Dipper and Polaris, played an important role in the story of the Underground Railroad as African-Americans escaping slavery traveled to freedom in the north. Learn about the Drinking Gourd in poem and song and how you can view those same stars from here in Buffalo.
On weather permitting Friday nights, join the planetarium staff after the program in looking up at the night sky (no ticket necessary). If you come at the right time, the International Space Station or a satellite may just appear above your head.
WHAT TO EXPECT:While this is a live, interactive program, it is intended to educate as well as entertain audiences of ages 6 and up. The lights will dim and a simulated night sky will be projected onto our 24-foot dome. Each day's topics are similar but it is not scripted, so the program may be slightly different each time!
Please note that the planetarium will be completely darkened at times so please take that into account with children.
