SHOW DESCRIPTION:

What are the wonders of the two largest planets in our solar system?  What is Jupiter's Great Red Spot?  What are Saturn's rings made of?  This approximate 50-60 minute program explains the impact these two planets made on modern astronomy when Galileo first viewed them through a telescope, to the days of Pioneer and Voyager, until even most recently the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and the voyage of Juno to Jupiter.

On weather permitting Friday nights, join the planetarium staff in looking up at the night sky (no ticket necessary), and if you come at the right time, who knows?  The International Space Station or a satellite may just appear above your head.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

While this is a live, interactive program, it is intended to educate as well as entertain audiences of ages 6 and up.  The lights will dim and a simulated night sky will be projected onto our 24-foot dome.  Each day's topics are similar but it is not scripted, so the program may be slightly different each time!

Please note that the planetarium will be completely darkened at times so please take that into account with children.
