Notable items: Jupiter cloud band still vivid in twilight, all 4 Galilean satellites visible. Several questions were asked about the optics of the telescope. Everyone observed a satellite-like object passing along the ecliptic from south to east; will look up to discover what the object was.
UPDATE NOTE (8/5/07): The object in question was the International Space Station flyover. Will look again next Friday as pass occurs at 8:55 PM. Endeavor may be nearby as well.
Issues: Western/Northern sky obscured by heavy cloud cover. Trailing clouds from earlier storm activity.

Objects viewed: Jupiter, Arcturus, Vega, Antares.
Issues: Major cloud bank caused overcast skies for the entire hour. The bank passed by 10:30.

Notable items: Jupiter cloud band visible, all 4 Galilean satellites visible. Many of the oberservers were able to see the pass of both Endeavor and the ISS. SOME OF THE PERSEIDS WERE ALSO SEEN in the Northeast sky. One couple brought a telescope for examination!
